in the freezing sun of march

our bodies are slowly heating up whilst we are drying god’s lonely tears

lost in a sea of grief

our pain is unfurling in the furious wind of our sacred hearts

we are quietly drowning in an abyss of muted sadness

calmly my white hand rests

stiffened by a torrent of dusty memories

as holly as my rosary
