I am an Afghan girl

A butterfly from hometown of the war

What do you know? How does it feel to be an Afghan girl?

Yes, I am an Afghan girl,

A bird of peace in a cage of injustice

I have wings but no courage to fly

When I stand they break me down

When I fly they tie my wings

They cut my tongue, if I open my mouth

But…….It is not the end of world

It is not the end of life

Let them close up all the doors to my face

Let the culture be cruel as it is

I have found my way

POETRY…..my voice to express

My power to stand again

And my wings to fly to the moon and to the sky

My poems… The tongue to express my heart

The strength to break the chain of injustice
